Isager – Hor Organic
You are desperately looking for a light-weight yarn that doesn’t contain wool for your summer tops? Hor Organic by Isager might be your Graal!
Indeed, this fingering yarn is made of 100% organic linen. If you are used to work with merino, alpaca or mohair, you can find linen somewhat stiff at first. But you will soon forget all about this once you see how enjoyable it is to wear!
Actually, this breathing and insulating fiber also has thermo-regulating properties that make it a must to wear in summer… But also in winter. If you knit your top with a tight gauge, you can wear it under a sweater or a cardigan when the weather begins to turn to cold. This way, you can enjoy it all year long. Plus, the more you wear a linen garment, the more it becomes soft and flexible. You can see why you won’t want to stop wearing your tops!
Another advantage of linen vs wool: it can be worn by even the most sensitive skins. Non-allergic and anti-bacterial, you will love it if you are sensitive to animal fibers. Plus, this particular yarn is made of fibers coming from organic farming, thus limiting the risk of being exposed to toxic elements. Moreover, Isager chose not to bleach the yarn and to keep the natural colour of the fiber (you can see it in the “linen” colourway). The natural fibers have been dyed this way, which give them a particular depth. Another good point for your skin… and the environment!
