Kokon – Merino Linen Single
Craving to put a little bit of luxury on your needles? Kokon Merino Linen, with its soft colours, will be a real pleasure to knit!
This beautiful single yarn is made of 90% superwash merino and 10% linen. The merino wool comes from South African farms that are guaranteed not to practice mulesing*. Indeed, Michelle du Plessis, the brand founder, always select very carefully the yarns she uses. She in fact favours fibers that come from ethical sources, caring about human as well as animal well-being.
Kokon is a fairly recent brand, that just keeps growing. Michelle du Plessis’ studio is set in South Africa, in the Eastern Cape province. She dyes all her yarns artisanally, in a very distinctive colour palette. First known for her indigo blue collection, she now offers a wider range of colours. Whether bold or on the contrary muted, her colours, with their subtle nuances, are perfect for everyday wear.
The Merino Linen Single yarn has very soft colours, almost heathered, thanks to the linen which does not take the dye as the merino does. A real treat for your eyes as well as for your fingers!
