Regia – Premium Merino Yak

Something for the most delicate knitters’ feet! Schachenmayr Regia stroke again, this time offering another oh-so-soft yarn to wear with their Premium Merino Yak.

If we had to sum up Regia in a few words, it would be: one of the best brands of sock yarn in the world. Indeed, they have acquired a reputation for their high quality and innovative blends and, above all, for the sturdiness and durability of their yarns. And this one is yet another example of their expertise!

Thanks to its fiber blend, including yak, you will indeed be able to create socks of a rare softness. But it will also work beautifully for any other kind of project!  Shawls, cowls, mitts… and even bigger pieces such as sweaters and cardigans… You will knit durable garments or accessories, with a wonderful drape.

You will find the wide range of colours of the brand, going from neutrals to pastels to vibrant shades. Plus, yak fiber being darker than the other fibers of this blend, it lends a pretty light heathered effect to them. Just enough to mute the initial colours… and give you an opportunity to play with the colours of other yarns of the brand! For example, by alternating it with similar colours of the Premium Silk, you can create a softly striped fabric, or a light fade…

What you need to know about this yarn:

  • Weight: Fingering
  • Composition: 58% wool – 28% polyamid – 14% yak

Actually, if you have sensitive feet, this brand makes some yarns that are real treats! For example, they also offer some sock yarn blends with silk, or even cashmere…  And always with the same high quality and soft price 😉
