Dilué

5.50

Semi-circular and asymetrical, Dilué (it means “diluted” in French) is a big shawl where garter stitch alternate with a delicate lace. Specifically created to be knitted with two skeins of yarn dyed in a long gradient, the design plays on the contrasting colours. Beginning each section with a different part of the gradient shows it at its best and reveals all its magic! But you can also knit it simply with contrasting colours, or why not, playing on texture with a silky yarn and a mohair one. Endless possibilities here! If you take a look at the Ravelry page of the pattern, you will indeed find beautiful projects that did not use a gradient.

The gradient used to knit the sample is dyed on two skeins, and both skeins are knitted in opposite directions (one from the lightest to the darkest shades, the other from the darkest to the lightest). It means you will use the lighter end of the first skein and alternate it with the darkest end of the second one.

This listing is for the knitting pattern (pdf) of the Dilué shawl (in French and in English).
