Sandnes Garn – KOS
Your skin cannot bear mohair yarn but you would like to knit a fluffy something too? Maybe you can try a yarn made of alpaca fiber blown in a tube! And Sandnes Garn’s Kos is perfect to try and knit quickly a big cuddly project.
The Kos yarn is indeed one of those voluminous yet extremely light-weight yarn. With 150 meters per 50 grams for a bulky yarn, you will only need a few balls of it to quickly knit up a big sweater or cardigan. And all that without the weight typically associated to this type of project! Moreover, the feeling of lightness is emphasized by the airy appearance of the yarn. You will feel like you are wrapping yourself in a cloud of softness, as baby alpaca is one of the softest fibers you can find! Plus it is generally well tolerated by even the most sensitive skins, as it has no lanolin and is of a rare finesse.
Add to all those qualities a great choice of beautiful colours, from the most basics to the most trendy ones, and you have no more reason not to splurge!
And if your skin likes mohair fibers, you can even combine the Kos with a mohair and silk lace yarn, for a fluffier effect! It would actually work well with the Tynn Silk Mohair of the brand. Plus, this way, you will be able to play on the colours: keeping it solid by choosing the same shade, going for a slightly heathered effect using a close-but-not-the-same shade, or why not using a natural one, or even light grey, to create a shadowy effect?
